About the event
Level Two - Indigenous Māori Knowledge of Mirimiri / Romiromi 6pm Friday 26th July 2024 - 6pm - 8pm 9am - 5pm Saturday 27th July 2024 9am - 3.30pm Sunday 28th July 2024
This is our Level Two Certification of Traditional Māori Healing. An extension and exploration of Indigenous Māori Knowledge, concentrating on Health and Wellbeing within the philosophies, art and practice of Mirimiri and Romiromi.
This ancient practice enables the movement and release of trauma, stress and pain held within the cellular memory and waterways of the physical body.
The mahi focuses on the catalyst of illness and dis-ease rather than giving too much mana to the symptom. Tauira (students) will learn when we trace and heal from the catalyst the healing is more effective long-term and prevents the illness or dis-ease from manifesting elsewhere in the body.
Over the weekend we will explore:
* He Kaupare – Our ancestors used incantations to invoke the work of the Gods. Tauira will learn specific kaupare ’for the mahi of Mirimiri/Romiromi. They will leave with an understanding of how, when and what the importance of this taōnga is.
* Whatumanawa – to stimulate and attune the third eye to scan and read the blockages within the physical body and the connection to wairua.
* Ngā tohu o te Tai o Te Tinana - the tīnana not only emanates vibration but also the vibration of colour. Tauira will learn what these colours are and what they are related to.
* Romiromi - Haemata / pressure points, tauira will learn and explore new and specific haemata - who they are and what they do. Understanding these energy channels and alignment within the body more in-depth. Exploring new ways through these haemata of how we can move, release and restore balance within the spiritual, psychological and physical bodies of the client.
This is a beautiful wananga with extensive knowledge and learning provided throughout the weekend so it’s not for the faint-hearted. I provide a supportive, open learning environment that will nurture and stimulate the tāonga you already carry in your dna. I invite those with open hearts and open minds to come and share space, to explore and experience the beauty of our Ancient Indigenous knowledge.
The prerequisite for this wānanga is to have completed a Level one tuatahi xxx
Tracey-Leigh Te Paa will be facilitating this weekend's wananga and has 16 years of experience as a Traditional Māori Healer and Rongoā Practitioner.
My mātauranga is underpinned from the teachings of Hohepa Delamere but my growth and mahi truly evolved from and through the guidance of my tūpuna. My passion lies with working and empowering wāhine, by removing and releasing intergenerational trauma from the cellular memory of the body using the magic of our ancient knowledge and spiritual practices.
I will be supported by my wonderful team of Mirimiri / Romiromi practitioners whom I have had the privilege of teaching and working alongside at our Community Clinics at Corban Estate (CEAC).
I love sharing the knowledge I’ve accumulated in my years as a Mama, a Māori Woman, an Indigenous Healer and a dynamic Teacher and Student.
This wānanga provides deeper insights and tools to support your practice, your understanding of healing how to integrate these practices into your everyday life and so much more. You will learn the importance of healing and connecting to the self so you can authentically connect and empower people around you. xxx
